Avasara Academy is a residential secondary school for girls near Pune in India, aiming to cultivate a new generation of woman leaders for India and beyond. Rooted in holistic learning, Avasara  takes themes like sustainability and recycling to a next level and makes them an integral part of the curriculum as well as a built reality: The buildings make exemplary use of recycled building materials, using doors and windows from demolished buildings, combines left-over stone pieces from the quarry into beautiful mosaics and uses a sun-driven natural ventilation system to cool the classrooms.
